Elvis

Full Name: Elvis

Gender: Male (gelding)

Character: Big and powerful - but curious and a little shy

Elvis came to the Hudson Valley Llamas from a farm in Rhode Island. Before that, we learned he had lived in New Hampshire and before that he lived near Philadelphia. He is one well-traveled llama! We intend for the Triple-B Ranch to be his forever home.

Despite being a big boy (a really big boy), Elvis didn't seem to demonstrate the need to challenge our alpha male, Silver, for dominance when he first arrived. Neither did any of our other llamas challenge Elvis in any way - although Silver did give him a good, long stare for about three days. So we guess Elvis knows he's big and could be tough if he wanted to - but he's chosen to just be mellow.

Elvis has one old battle-scar to show that he's seen a little action. His left ear has a horizontal cut about 1/3 of the way across, which causes it to flop over. We think it's cute, but we wonder if he got in a fight with a male that still had fighting teeth, did someone tag him, or did it just get caught on something? But it doesn't matter.
