Triple B Ranch
The Triple B Ranch, located in scenic Putnam Valley, NY, is the
year-round home to the Bennett family and The Famous Hudson
Valley Llamas. The farm, nestled in a small valley located
near the top of a mountain, and situated in the midst of acres
of woods and hills, includes a small farmhouse, open meadows and
fenced pastures, a small barn, riding ring, and a koi pond.
Apples and peaches grow on the trees, turtles and frogs bask in
the water, and the llamas roam as they please. It is a
sanctuary, both for the llamas and our family. It is a place
where the llamas need feel no fear, nor hunger, nor pain. They
can awaken, live, and go to sleep knowing that all is - and will
be - well.
Hawks circle overhead, pheasants and wild turkey scurry about,
and white-tailed deer abound. At night, the owls and coyote
remind us that not everyone is asleep, while the closer chirp of
frogs and crickets keep the rhythm of the night. The Empire
State Building in the heart of New York City is just 60 miles
away - but it might as well be on another continent. From a
nearby peak, just a short hike up the mountain, you can actually
see Manhattan on a clear day, as well as the Palisades along the
Hudson River. But the Triple B Ranch is a wonderful escape from
the hustle and bustle of the city. The most noticeable
difference, aside from the absence of tall buildings and a few
million people, is the noise. Here, there is rarely a sound
other than the breeze through the trees, and the wildlife. And
the llamas, beautiful as they are, rarely have much to say -
they speak to us in different ways.
